2023-09-02 Passing of Colin Broster

Dear AWMEC Members,

We come together with heavy hearts to share the sad news of the passing of one of our dearest members, Colin Broster, who left us on Saturday 2nd September 2023. Colin was more than just a fellow rider; he was an integral part of our motorcycle family, and his loss leaves a void that can never be filled.

Colin’s lifelong dedication to our club was nothing short of inspiring. He embodied the true spirit of camaraderie and passion for the open road. Through the years, he became a respected figure within our club, touching the lives of many with his warmth, knowledge, and unwavering enthusiasm for motorcycles.

Only recently at our last meeting, Colin shared his experiences with organ donation. His touching story of how he personally received a kidney donation to save his life and the importance of considering registering yourself for organ donation showed his true courage and caring nature.

One of Colin’s most cherished possessions was his beloved Honda CB1100F, a machine that held a rich history and won recognition at numerous Show and Shine events. His dedication to maintaining and showcasing this magnificent bike was a testament to his love for the world of two wheels. Colin was very proud to explain just how low in kms his Honda had and the story of how he came to become its’ custodian. He always drove the motorcycle to and from in its own custom-designed trailer and the motorcycle was show & shine ready for any occasion.

Colin’s legacy goes beyond his impressive collection of motorcycles. He was a friend, mentor, and confidant to many of us. His willingness to share his knowledge, and lend a helping hand, and his infectious passion for motorcycles made him a beloved figure within our club.

In the coming days, we will gather to pay our respects and celebrate Colin’s life. We will share stories, reminisce about our rides together, and remember the joy he brought to our club.
