“Biggest Ship Engine in the World” introduces the RT Flex 96c engine, currently the largest and most powerful ship engine, standing at 44 feet tall and 87 feet long, and producing an impressive 110,000 horsepower. This engine, used in large container ships running on heavy fuel oil, consumes 13,000 liters of heavy fuel per hour and weighs 2300 tons, producing 80 million watts of energy. Despite its massive size and power, it’s also environmentally friendly, with exhaust gases being reused and any remaining gases powering electrical generators. Installed in a container ship, it allows for the transportation of 11,000 Twenty-foot shipping containers at a speed of 31 knots, making it efficient and profitable. The engine, which made it into the Guinness Book of World Records, costs between 25 to 30 million dollars.
